At SeizureSync, we take your privacy seriously. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, why we collect it, how we use it, and your rights regarding your personal data.
By using SeizureSync — including our website at www.seizuresync.co.za and our mobile application — you agree to the collection and use of information as described in this policy.
1. Who We Are
SeizureSync is operated by SEIZURESYNC (Pty) Ltd., based in South Africa. We provide a mobile application and website designed to help dog owners track seizures, manage medications, and share health reports with their veterinarians.

2. Information We Collect
2.1 Information You Provide Directly
When you create an account or use SeizureSync, you may provide:
- Your name and email address
- Your dog's name, breed, age, and health information including epilepsy diagnosis date
- Seizure logs including date, time, duration, recovery time, seizure type, triggers, and notes
- Medication information including medication names, dosages, and schedules
- Veterinarian details including name and clinic
- Profile photos of your dog
- Community posts and replies
2.2 Information Collected Automatically
When you use SeizureSync, we automatically collect:
- Device type and operating system
- App usage data and feature interactions
- Crash reports and error logs to improve the app
- IP address and approximate location (country level only)
2.3 Payment Information
SeizureSync uses Stripe to process subscription payments. We do not store your credit card details. All payment data is handled directly by Stripe and is subject to Stripe's own Privacy Policy.
3. How We Use Your Information
We use the information we collect to:
- Provide, operate, and improve the SeizureSync app and website
- Save and sync your seizure logs, medications, and dog profiles across devices
- Send medication reminder notifications at times you set
- Generate AI-powered pattern analysis using your seizure log data
- Generate vet report PDFs containing your dog's health data
- Send you important account and service updates
- Send waitlist and Founding Member communications if you have joined our waitlist
- Respond to your support requests
- Comply with legal obligations
Important: SeizureSync does not sell your personal data to any third party. Your dog's health data is yours. We use it only to provide you with the service. We will never share your data with advertisers.
4. AI Features and Your Data
SeizureSync's AI Insights feature sends your dog's seizure log data to the Anthropic Claude API to generate pattern analysis. This data is sent securely and is used solely to generate the insights displayed to you in the app.
We do not use your personal health data to train AI models. Data sent to the Claude API is subject to Anthropic's Privacy Policy, available at anthropic.com/privacy.
5. Data Storage and Security
Your data is stored securely in our database. We implement appropriate technical and organisational measures to protect your personal data against unauthorised access, loss, or destruction.
While we take data security seriously, no method of transmission over the internet is 100% secure. We encourage you to use a strong password and keep your login credentials private.
Your data is stored on servers which may be located outside of South Africa. By using SeizureSync, you consent to your data being transferred and stored internationally.
6. Data Retention
We retain your personal data for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide you with the service. If you delete your account, we will delete your personal data within 30 days, except where we are required to retain it for legal purposes.
Anonymised and aggregated data — data that cannot be linked back to you personally — may be retained indefinitely for research and service improvement purposes.
7. Sharing Your Information
We do not sell, trade, or rent your personal information to third parties. We may share your data in the following limited circumstances:
- Service providers: We use trusted third-party services including Replit (hosting), Stripe (payments), Resend (email), Anthropic (AI analysis), and Sanity (content). These providers access only the data necessary to perform their services and are bound by confidentiality obligations.
- Legal requirements: We may disclose your data if required by law, court order, or government authority.
- Business transfer: In the event of a merger, acquisition, or sale of SeizureSync, your data may be transferred. We will notify you before your data is transferred and becomes subject to a different Privacy Policy.
- With your consent: We may share your data in any other way with your explicit consent.
8. Your Rights
Depending on where you are located, you may have the following rights regarding your personal data:
- Right to access: Request a copy of the personal data we hold about you
- Right to correction: Request that we correct inaccurate or incomplete data
- Right to deletion: Request that we delete your personal data

European Users — GDPR
If you are based in the European Economic Area, you have rights under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR). Our legal basis for processing your data is primarily the performance of our contract with you (providing the SeizureSync service) and, where applicable, your consent.
9. Cookies and Tracking
Our website uses cookies and similar tracking technologies to improve your experience, analyse website traffic, and understand where our visitors come from. You can control cookie settings through your browser settings.
We use Google Analytics to understand how visitors use our website. Google Analytics collects anonymised usage data. You can opt out of Google Analytics at tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout.
10. Children's Privacy
SeizureSync is not directed at children under the age of 18. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child under 18 has provided us with personal information, please contact us at hello@seizuresync.co.za and we will delete it promptly.

SeizureSync may contain links to third-party websites or services. We are not responsible for the privacy practices of these third parties. We encourage you to review the privacy policies of any third-party sites you visit.
