Please read these Terms of Service carefully before using SeizureSync. By creating an account or using the app, you agree to be bound by these terms. If you do not agree, please do not use SeizureSync.
These Terms of Service govern your use of SeizureSync, including our mobile application and website at www.seizuresync.co.za, operated by SEIZURESYNC (Pty) Ltd.
1. About SeizureSync
SeizureSync is a mobile application and web platform that helps dog owners track seizures, manage medications, monitor health patterns, and generate reports to share with their veterinarians.
IMPORTANT MEDICAL DISCLAIMER
SeizureSync is a logging and organisational tool only. It is not a medical device, does not provide veterinary advice, and is not a substitute for professional veterinary care. Nothing in the app or on the website constitutes a diagnosis, treatment recommendation, or medical opinion.
Always consult a qualified veterinarian regarding your dog's health, medications, and treatment. In an emergency, contact your vet or emergency animal clinic immediately. Do not delay seeking veterinary care because of information in this app.
2. Eligibility
By using SeizureSync, you confirm that:
- You are at least 18 years of age
- You have the legal capacity to enter into a binding agreement
- You will use SeizureSync only for lawful purposes
- All information you provide is accurate and truthful
3. Account Registration
To use SeizureSync you must create an account. You are responsible for:
- Maintaining the confidentiality of your login credentials
- All activity that occurs under your account
- Notifying us immediately at hello@seizuresync.co.za if you suspect unauthorised access to your account
We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms or that we believe have been compromised.
4. Subscription Plans and Payments
4.1 Free Plan
SeizureSync offers a free tier with limited features. Free users can log seizures, track medications, and access emergency mode at no cost.
4.2 Pro Plan
SeizureSync Pro is a paid subscription offering additional features including unlimited history, AI insights, vet report PDF generation, automatic medication reminders, and full community access.
Current pricing:
- Pro Monthly: $19.99 per month
- Pro Annual: $199.99 per year
Founding members pricing:
- Pro Monthly: $14.99 per month
- Pro Annual: $179.99 per year
Prices are displayed in USD. Your bank or payment provider may charge conversion fees if you pay in a different currency.
4.3 Founding Member Plan
Founding Member pricing is available for a limited number of early adopters at a special rate. Founding Member pricing is locked in for the duration of an active subscription. If a Founding Member subscription lapses, standard pricing applies upon resubscription.
4.4 Billing and Renewal
Subscriptions renew automatically at the end of each billing period unless cancelled. You authorise us to charge your payment method on a recurring basis. You will receive a notification before renewal.
4.5 Cancellation
You may cancel your subscription at any time through the app settings or by contacting hello@seizuresync.co.za. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period. You will retain access to Pro features until the end of your paid period.
4.6 Refunds
We offer a 7-day free trial for new Pro subscribers. After the trial period, subscription fees are non-refundable except where required by applicable law. If you believe you are entitled to a refund, please contact us at hello@seizuresync.co.za.
4.7 Price Changes
We reserve the right to change subscription pricing. We will give you at least 30 days notice of any price change. If you do not accept the new pricing, you may cancel your subscription before the change takes effect.
5. Acceptable Use
You agree to use SeizureSync only for its intended purpose. You must not:
- Use the app for any unlawful purpose or in violation of any applicable law
- Post content in the community that is abusive, hateful, threatening, or harmful
- Impersonate any person or entity
- Attempt to gain unauthorised access to any part of SeizureSync or its systems
- Use automated tools, bots, or scrapers to access the app or website
- Share your account credentials with others
- Upload malicious software or content
- Use SeizureSync to provide veterinary advice to others
7. Your Content and Data
You retain ownership of all content and data you enter into SeizureSync, including seizure logs, medication records, and dog profiles. By using SeizureSync, you grant us a limited licence to store, process, and display your data solely to provide you with the service.
We do not claim ownership of your data. We will not use your personal health data for advertising or sell it to third parties. See our Privacy Policy for full details.
8. AI-Generated Content
SeizureSync's AI Insights feature generates analysis based on your seizure log data. AI-generated content is provided for informational purposes only and does not constitute veterinary advice.
AI analysis may contain inaccuracies or errors. We do not guarantee the accuracy, completeness, or reliability of AI-generated insights. Always discuss patterns and concerns with your veterinarian.
9. Educational Resources
The educational content in SeizureSync is compiled from a mix of veterinary expertise, peer-reviewed academic research, and published sources. Where content has been reviewed by a licensed veterinarian, this is clearly indicated.
Educational content is provided for general informational purposes only. It does not replace professional veterinary advice and should not be relied upon as such.
10. Intellectual Property
All content, design, code, logos, and branding in SeizureSync — including the name SeizureSync, the app design, and all written content created by us — is owned by SEIZURESYNC (Pty) Ltd, and protected by applicable intellectual property laws.
You may not copy, reproduce, distribute, or create derivative works from any part of SeizureSync without our express written permission.
11. Third-Party Services
SeizureSync integrates with third-party services including Stripe, Anthropic, Replit, Sanity, and Resend. Your use of these services is subject to their respective terms and privacy policies. We are not responsible for the practices of third-party services.
12. Disclaimers and Limitation of Liability
SeizureSync is provided on an 'as is' and 'as available' basis. To the maximum extent permitted by law:
- We make no warranties, express or implied, regarding the reliability, accuracy, or availability of SeizureSync
- We are not responsible for any veterinary decisions made based on information in the app
- We are not liable for any loss or damage arising from your use of SeizureSync
- Our total liability to you for any claim arising from your use of SeizureSync shall not exceed the amount you paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim
Nothing in these Terms limits liability for fraud, gross negligence, or where limitation is not permitted by law.
13. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless SeizureSync and its operators from any claims, losses, damages, or expenses (including legal fees) arising from your use of the app, your violation of these Terms, or your violation of any third-party rights.
14. Termination
We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your account at any time if we believe you have violated these Terms. You may delete your account at any time through the app settings.
Upon termination, your right to use SeizureSync ceases immediately. We will delete your personal data within 30 days of account deletion, except where retention is required by law.
15. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of South Africa. Any disputes arising from these Terms or your use of SeizureSync shall be subject to the jurisdiction of the courts of South Africa.
If any provision of these Terms is found to be unenforceable, the remaining provisions will continue in full force and effect.
16. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. We will notify you of significant changes by email or through the app at least 14 days before they take effect. Your continued use of SeizureSync after changes take effect constitutes your acceptance of the updated Terms.
